#EpicenterExperience: Perspective of an Essential Worker During COVID-19 in NYC

Welcome to our first installment of our #epicenterexperience series!

Epicenter Experience is our newly launched video series where consumers like you tell us exactly what it has been like living in New York these last few months during the outbreak of COVID-19. How has the pandemic impacted you financially, emotionally, or physically? How do you cope with quarantine and social distancing? What would you like to change? The list goes on! Now join us in watching Art Cai’s story below.

Art Cai shares his experience as an essential worker.

Art’s Epicenter Experience has been an unusual one. When you hear essential worker, you likely think of a healthcare provider. Art IS an essential worker but works as a defense contractor. That means from day 1 of quarantine Art goes to the office everyday. Art emphasizes the uncertainty of the early days of the pandemic. Riding into Midtown from Brooklyn, on a deserted train he felt scared knowing very little about the virus.

With months of practice and more concrete, reliable information about coronavirus, Art is adapting to a new way of life. Watch his video below for the full story!

If you’ve got a story, we’d love to highlight it. Send a vertical video on WeTransfer to rlieber@cssny.org, and if you’ve have questions, DM us on Twitter @WeThePatientsNY or on Instagram @wethepatientsny!
