Deirdre shares her experience working with the Filipino community to provide for frontline workers.
At the height of the pandemic, Deirdre wanted to give back to frontline workers. She started a group called Project Barkada, partnering with local Filipino businesses to deliver food to health care workers.
Throughout her work, she recalls noticing that many frontline workers were Filipino, inspiring her to take action: “They were brave and strong and the least that we could do was to help them.”
Deirdre reminds us to stay vigilant and careful in order to protect our frontline workers.
