NYC Week of Action: Coffee and Policy Chat at Berg’n
Sunday, 1/5 from 11-1 pm @ 899 Bergen St Brooklyn, NY 11238
It’s 2020, and NYC is starting the year off with a city-wide grassroots commitment to outwork, out-organize, and outlast! Join Brooklyn for Warren for a casual Sunday morning coffee and chat about Elizabeth Warren’s plans to make big, structural changes in our healthcare system. We’ll be writing postcards to local elected officials asking them to endorse the Senator. We’ll also be joined by We The Patients, an advocacy group in NY that empowers patients to advocate for health justice at the state level.
Consumer Empowerment Series with We The Patients and Say Ah!
Fun, interactive workshops that teach you how to get the health care you need and advocate for the health care system you want! In the 90 minute workshop (with discussion!), you will gain new ways to take charge of your health and health care, including:
- Tips on how to navigate the system
- Tools to help you get safe, effective care
- Strategies to change the system so it meets your needs!
All that, and you get to voice your own ideas about how to get better health care! We need all the help we can get to deal with a system has become so complex, fragmented and expensive, that nearly nine out of 10 of us struggle to use it. This workshop will give you the basic skills needed to maintain and manage your health — and be a part of the movement to make the health care system easier and more affordable to use.
