A discussion led by lived experiences. Shawanna Vaughn, shares her experiences being a mother, a cancer survivor, and previously an incarcerated woman. Messiah Rhodes shares his documentary, “Against All Odds”, and highlights the issues that prevent women, like his own mother, from breaking the cycle of incarceration.
From personal to political, we will discuss how the health care and prison system must change to serve Black and Brown New Yorkers.
